So I tentatively step back into gaming, via mods.
First
WCA-HL / Peaces Like Us.
A nightmare of a game when using a Pentium 2 and cutting edge graphics - a Voodoo card.
I wrote the walkthrough after being stuck for days unable to see a ladder, whilst clinging to a massive machine made of Xen textures and propellers.

Install to Steam like this:
Unzip the downloaded file to desktop
Drag the folder called wca_hl into your Half Life 1 folder.
Here is the file path:
steam - steam apps - common - Half Life (drag WCA here.)
I also downloaded Spherical Nightmares, by David Lundvall

So far?
Spherical Nightmares has the feel of a Portal 2 world x HL 1.
The last thing your remember, before you fell unconscious to the floor, is the G man. But now you are awake, in a prison cell...and having PTSD flash backs...

They Hunger is very much a Quake 1 kind of game
Made extra excellent by the custom sound effects.
Story - You are a writer, going off to the country to spend time alone, to write your book.
But, your car crashes
Armed with your trusty umbrella, you spend the game running around, trying to avoid the zombie hoards.
I never worked out if the music was originally composed by ReFrag?
