Ant lions!
Enter the first building and find a number 6, and a blue light in a small room. On the other side of the building on the same floor you will see a hole and red light. The gap is actually a small lift which rises up once you have jumped onto it. You need to weigh it down with a barrel to keep it from sinking down.
Upstairs you can find a shotgun and… You need the grav gun to solve the next problem of opening the door so that you can use the communicator.
There are two more buildings outside; the small one contains four electrodes whilst the other has the grav gun. Use the lever on the side of this one to open the door to get the gun.

More ant lions!
You can use the electrodes on the other building to give you health [before switching it on with the lever] and then to electrocute the ant lions.
Go back to first building and use grav gun to get to the communicator.
Barney and some friendly Combine come through the portal, after the triangle-of-doom has gone over, run to the building and prepare to fight with ‘bad’ Combine.
After the mine blows the force field blocking your way in to the house [activated by Barney looking through the window] clear the floors systematically. Go upstairs, in a large room on your right you will see a box, just beyond that are enemies and a gun turret, you must keep Barney alive.
The way seems to be blocked by a force field, so jump out of the window to go around the force field.
Go upstairs there are three blue mines [activated when you get close to them] and more man hacks, Barney turns up when it’s ok. Smash to wood to get to the lift, Alex talks to you and you teleport away leaving Barney and the triangle-of-Doom!
